Job Description:
Private male client in his 40s with persistent mental health disorder and intellectual disability is seeking a caring, empathetic, organized and experienced therapeutic support person. He loves comics, graphic novels and movies but also enjoys his alone time and spending time with family. We are currently looking for one staff member to provide support and oversight in the client's home on Tuesday and Wednesday 7am-7pm in a part time role. This role is unique and a great opportunity for those wanting to gain clinical experience and also have a heart for caregiving. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing 1:1 support in a client home and have experience working in residential care with high acuity clients, and highly complex mental health and medical supports.
This position has exciting and fun potential for activities in the community and home, meals provided during shifts, and downtime during shifts. You will be working in an incredible, supportive, and highly team-oriented position and environment with ongoing support from Care Managers, teammates, and the family.
Job Summary:
Seeking a reliable and collaborative individual who will provide assistance with personal care services in the home such as cleaning, laundry and meal prep, companionship, monitoring/documenting client’s presentation, transportation to/from appointments and outings as needed, scheduling appointments and home services, clinical intervention, resolution de-escalation and motivational interviewing skills.
Schedule:
- Tuesday and Wednesday 7:00am-7:00pm
- PRN availability

Organizational Relationship:
- Reports to Care Managers
- Communicate client needs and updates with other team members
- Weekly team meetings required
- Available weekly office hours for check-in
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a mental health-related field.
- Must have current CPR certification.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have experience working in a residential care setting
- Must have experience working with high-acuity cases
- Must have experience with de-escalation and resolution
- Caregiver experience preferred
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation.
- Significant experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs is required.
- QMAP Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, companionship, and clinical support with the client.
- Deliver behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques with the client.
- Ensure medication is administered properly and record accurate symptom tracking for providers
- Perform occasional errands with or for the client including grocery shopping, picking up medications or household items.
- Participate in weekly team meetings including clinical collaboration.
- Verify the security and safety of the home and client at all times.
- Ability to work independently, accept feedback, and identify individualized needs.
- Collaborate with care managers and family members.
- Anticipate client’s individual needs, follow emergency protocols and systems
- Encourage appropriate activities based on the client's daily self-report.
- Assisting the client by attending doctor’s visits, shopping, and other errands. Report appointment overview and updates to Care Manager.
- Keeping accurate records of all shifts including interactions and MSE in a daily shift report.
- Follow assignments and guidelines set by the employer and Care Manager.
- Show flexibility and clinical creativity in responding to the needs of the client.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
