Summary/Objective
The Pension Compliance Analyst will provide support to the Pension Department Managers and staff by way of procedural training and documentation; QA reviews to determine compliance with established goals; coordinating and conducting User Acceptance Testing and technical training; participate in new software enhancement projects. This position helps ensure that department staff can fully utilize the capabilities of all available technology to assist them in efficiently performing their jobs.
Essential Responsibilities
· Train new staff and other MOE staff as requested on policies, procedures, and Plan documents.
· Conduct new and ongoing procedural training of department staff, utilizing internal and external resources, including staff, senior reviewers, and managers. Prepare procedural training materials and syllabi, identify training issues and work with seniors, and managers to determine a training plan.
· Monitor and facilitate the maintenance of the line of business system that impacts pension, acting as a liaison with Information Services.
· Maintain current knowledge of pension, legislative, and administrative changes, as well as current events, including issues that impact our members. Assist in providing updates to department staff.
· Perform secondary benefit approvals for benefits processed.
· Provide assistance with yearly Department of Labor (DOL) compliance task.
· Conduct pre and post pension benefit audits providing feedback and training to staff based on results.
· Provide technical support and guidance to staff, and seniors. Review and report on problem situations as requested by the pension department.
· Maintain knowledge of the operation of other departments as it relates to Pension Department operations. Collaborate and act as a liaison between other departments.
· Conduct research for the Pension Department. This requires knowledge of the various resources within the organization and the ability to apply as needed.
· Provide the necessary support to enable the department to achieve established service goals.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Length of experience
· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree and/or comparable work experience.
· Three years of experience as a Compliance or Business Analyst.
· Knowledge of Salesforce and ISSI preferred.
Specialized skills/technical knowledge
· Knowledge of pension benefit structure, plan documents and ERISA.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical system documentation, plan documents and policies; programming edits; and outputs. In addition, understand and calculate supplemental benefits that impact pension payments. Ability to convey system changes to the operational areas of the department. Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers. Primary customers will include but not limited to MOE departments, MOE members, beneficiaries, attorneys, and vendors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as, pension calculation, including use of benefit formula tables. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve complex and practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where detail and limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
