The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily and month-end closing entries
- Conduct account analyses and reconciliations, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with designers and sales representatives to address royalty/commission inquiries.
- Manage and update the general ledger chart of accounts.
- Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support annual financial and collateral audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes
- Identify opportunities for reducing expenses.
- Utilize ERP systems effectively for financial transactions, reporting, and analysis.
- Execute analytical projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting
- Proficiency with ERP systems required
- CPA certification preferred, but not required
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills with a proven ability to perform under pressure
- Team-oriented with a collaborative work approach
