Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governmental accounting, financial report writing, and financial analysis. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic finance team and contribute to the organization's financial success.
Duties:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
- Research and work unreconciled cash transactions in the Oracle Cash Management Tool for Corporate Accounting owned cash disbursement accounts.
- Prepares and processes journal entries monthly by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs, and preparing audit trail support.
- Completes month-end and year-end close functions including preparing journal entries, assisting with the review of department financials, and working with other departments and field business units throughout the close process.
- Performs monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
- Works closely with various departments and leads monthly meetings with these teams to discuss new and ongoing matters identified in reconciliations, journal entries, or through other reviews.
- Prepares and reviews financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in an adequate manner given abstract project guidelines.
- Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussions and review of pertinent matters.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar area of study.
- 0-3 years previous experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Required:
- General accounting, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable knowledge may be required.
Hybrid Work Schedule:
- One day out of the week (to be determined)
- Remote Workdays:
- Monday through Friday
- Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 per hour
