Job Summary:
The Planning and Project Management group at Vail Resorts is responsible for the management of strategic, high-risk capital projects across our portfolio of resorts globally. These projects include the planning and construction of a variety of projects including but not limited to: new restaurants, new lifts, snow making expansions, employee housing and base area and on-mountain improvements. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for tracking project budgets and providing process controls leadership to the team. The Analyst will report to the Principal Financial Analyst and provides business assistance to the Planning and Project Management Team.
Job Responsibilities:

Drive change and improvements in financial controls, processes, and reporting
-
Support and guide capital project budgeting and forecasting

Maintain regular project budget tracking data and deliver project budget reporting

Communicate effectively with team members, leaders, cross functional contacts, and external partners

Collaborate with internal fixed assets, general ledger, accounts payable, tax and technical accounting, and legal teams

Audit and reconcile vendor contracts and budget activity ad hoc
-
Own month end close labor allocations, re-class entries, and invoice accruals
-
Investigate and navigate ambiguous ad hoc situations and create path forward and process where needed

Be flexible to adapt to evolving scope of responsibilities
Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data analytics or related field is preferred
-
1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, project management, project controls, data management, business systems and analysis, or related field is preferred

Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential
-
Strong ability to learn and navigate new systems is required
-
Experience with Smarsheets is a plus
-
Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, and other similar tools is a plus
-
Experience with Enterprise Asset Management system and implementation is a plus

Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials system, Conga (contract management software), and Coupa (purchasing software) is helpful but not required. Ability to learn and navigate new systems is required

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $67,000 - $92,000- + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
