Senior Business Analyst – Student
IN THIS ROLE:
You will provide leadership and support for the current student information system software packages utilized by Oakland Schools’ staff and local school districts. You will define business requirements and workflow to create functional and technical solutions for customers; identify and initiate projects and coordinate resources to drive the comprehensive support of the systems, including resolution of issues. Lead in the identification of process improvements, system design, testing and implementation of projects, and support for the student information system applications utilized by customers.
WHAT WE NEED:
We are looking for a proactive Senior Business Analyst with a passion for technology and innovation to work collaboratively with our team and customers to analyze business needs and functional requirements; provide training, assistance and consultation to customers in the resolution of system problems including the analysis and interpretation of data; along with leading the planning and implementation of systems upgrades, enhancements and expansions. This individual will develop test and implementation plans and assess system enhancements after implementation to ensure compliance with specifications and standards, recommending corrective action as needed; and analyze data information in relation to assigned functional areas in order to incorporate an understanding of user implications. You will develop and facilitate training programs for end users and document standard operating procedures for assigned software applications. You will maintain knowledge of federal, state and local mandates including reporting requirements and recommend system changes to ensure compliance, as appropriate.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
- Experience with MISTAR, Student Information System support or other equivalent experience supporting large ERP systems, including software conversions.
- Experience with pupil accounting, state reporting, and data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with project management, large group presentations and facilitation, and leadership experience.
This position requires 24/7 on-call availability to address critical system issues as well as occasional travel.

SALARY DETAILS:
$91,187 – $105,752 annually based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential of earning up to $113,883 after employment in this position with Oakland Schools.
