Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the quality standards of the restaurant
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus and create new dishes
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques, including knife skills and food preparation
- Familiarity with menu planning and recipe development
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Skills:
- Menu planning: Ability to assist in creating menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
- Restaurant: Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, sanitation, and customer service
- Kitchen: Proficiency in various kitchen tasks, such as chopping, sautéing, grilling, and baking
- Knife skills: Ability to safely handle and use knives for food preparation
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling techniques to ensure food safety
- Culinary: Understanding of culinary principles and techniques for cooking various types of cuisine
- Cook: Experience in cooking a variety of dishes using different cooking methods
- Dietary department: Familiarity with dietary restrictions and ability to accommodate special dietary needs
- Food industry: Understanding of the overall operations and trends in the food industry
- Catering: Experience in catering events and preparing large quantities of food
