The Director of Accounting is a key leadership position within the Finance group reporting to the SVP of Finance. The Director of Accounting will establish and manage the accounting and financial systems which comply with Gordon Ramsay North America’s management reporting requirements.
Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Directs the timely & accurate preparation of all financial statements including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports for month end and year end process.

Ensures proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Analyzes period financial statements and provides commentary for management reporting.

Manages period, quarter, and year-end close process.

Conducts daily review of cash transactions and monthly cash forecast.

Establishes accounting classifications of all expenditures and invoice approval.

Develops accounting policies and procedures to be used by corporate and field locations.

Administers treasury function of the company, including account maintenance, transfers, and credit cards.

Maintains relationship with external bank team and maintenance of online accounts.

Responsible for management of off-site accounting team and relationship with vendor

Oversees accounts payable and payroll processes.

Manages compliance with state and local liquor and health permitting.

Manages requirements under debt agreements, including debt covenant calculations, funding, repayment, and interest settlements.

Arranges for and acts as primary contact with organization’s independent auditors on accounting matters.

Reviews and prepares audit materials to facilitate internal and external audits as well as tax filings.

Assists in development of monthly/quarterly presentations for the Board of Directors

Maintains internal control environment to ensure compliance with various requirements.

Assists in preparation of annual budget plan and monthly variance analysis.

Manages relationships with landlords, handles lease and new development accounting.

Assists SVP of Finance with projects as needed.
Education/Training/Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance, CPA preferred

A minimum of three to five years of prior accounting management experience in a hospitality company

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word, required

Experience with Micros and Brink POS or other POS systems preferred
