Position Summary:
A branch manager is responsibilities for a number of tasks, including overseeing member services, daily operations and ensure the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of functions and procedures. They are also in charge of cash handling, training staff members, auditing services, and ensuring a safe, productive work environment for staff. As branch manager, you are also responsible for interviewing and hiring new personnel, as well as conducting any disciplinary and firing procedures. The branch manager will also provide vision and leadership to the branch staff.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, direct, and evaluate employee performance within the functional area.
- Ensures the daily branch operations are conducted in accordance with established credit union policies to include legal and regulatory requirements.
- Communicates effectively at all levels and possess skills in planning with the ability to monitor and report.
- Provides on‐going training to branch staff on credit union products and services, competitive products and services in trade area, policies and procedures
- Responsible for on‐going evaluation and providing feedback on employee performance. Reviews branch staffing levels as positions turn for appropriate modifications
- Responsible for building cohesive effective teams and fostering positive open communication with branch employees. Good working relationships are established and fostered with branch personnel, management and other departments.
- Promote an enthusiastic service/sales culture within their branch so that member service goals and product sales goals established by the Credit Union are met or exceeded each year. Establishes service/sales goals for individual team members and tracks performance through regular coaching.
- Recommends changes to management and implements decision within delegated authority.
- Manages the security and safety of the branch. Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on‐going basis
- Maintains thorough and current knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal policies and procedures and credit union and area competitors’ products and services affecting branch operations.
- Maintains and fosters branch participation in community events in support of promoting credit union awareness and growth
- Works cooperatively with management and branch staff to effectively communicate and implement performance standards and sales goals and objectives.
- Oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists tellers in resolving balancing problems
- Continually strives to improve the level of service, and proposes new ideas or suggestions to management
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to member complaints or concerns
- May be required to participate in credit union committees
- Assumes responsibility for Bank Secrecy Act / Anti Money Laundering related duties as required or assigned for self and team
- Understanding the BSA/AML regulations, policies and procedures
- Reporting any suspicious or unusual activity by members or associates
- Successfully completing BSA/AML Training as required
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or AA in business related discipline or equivalent
- 3-5 year of similar or related experience
- Advanced knowledge of credit union loan policies as well as the following regulations: Truth in Lending, HMDA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act as well as lending related laws and other NCUA regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including PC, fax machine, telephone, photo copier and check scanner/encoder.

- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with members, co‐workers and management in person, by email and by telephone. Demonstrated credit analysis skills, interpreting and applying loan policies and objectives
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Working closely with others working in a multi-task environment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
