JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The Service Technician provides exceptional customer service and educates customers regarding technical and investment decisions by providing multiple options and solutions while making service calls in customers’ homes and property. Develops new business relationships and find solutions for their facilities, new construction, and replacement projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair mechanical problems for commercial HVAC-R systems.
· Complete installation and repairs on equipment.
· Walk jobsites individually and with Lead technicians, as needed.
· Attend meetings to ensure all information is gathered before starting a job.
· Take clear pre and post work pictures.
· Write detailed notes for office staff and clients.
· Service, repair, and/or propose replacement of gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, electric furnaces, packaged terminal units, ductless split systems, humidification and dehumidification equipment, electronic air cleaners and air purification systems, and residential control systems, including Evolution and zoning systems.
· Troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve/repair all issues to keep equipment functioning properly.
· Test each system after service/repair is complete to ensure the system is functioning properly.
· Perform proper inspection of customer systems to prevent future issues.
· Communicate and explain to customers each service and repair performed.
· Accurately document: Age and type of each system component on invoices for services completed
· Discussion with customers regarding current and/or future equipment/service requirements
· Debrief with dispatch after each service call.
· Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
· Participate in company-sponsored training classes.
· Monitor project progress and identify any potential issues and find effective solutions.
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
· Refrigerant recovery license and HVAC certification (Required).
· Valid Driver's License (Required)
· Ability to operate small hand tools and power tools.
· Ability to use voltmeters, am probes, Freon recovery machine, Freon gauges, and other equipment associated with the install and service of HVAC equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
