Automotive General Manager
Dealer group with great reputation seeks an experienced Automotive General Manager for our Domestic Dealership in the Northern Chicago suburbs.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on General Manager with at least 5 years' experience as a GM to join the team. Use your knowledge and skills to operate all aspects of the dealership, with heavy emphasis on variable operations. We need an "out-of-the office" closer, trainer and leader to take this dealership to the next level. Show us your record of success and grow with us!
Automotive General Manager Duties:
· Directs and monitors all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions.
· Consistently works the sales desk and TO’s customers.
· Leads by example and ensures that the core values of the company are encompassed in behavior at all times
· Leads the sales & finance teams by closing deals and motivating with inspiration.
· Accountable for customer retention and the profitability of each department in the dealership.
· Build morale and applaud positive attitudes with enthusiasm and strong leadership.
· Values the culture, training and leadership practices the company provides, and sees participation in these events by all staff.
· Hires, trains, plans, motivates and rewards all dealership department managers.
· Meets with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
· Monitors the daily DOC, recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
· Provides Vice President, CFO and President with accurate reports on the financial condition of the dealership.
· Ensures that the monthly financial statement is complete, accurate and submitted on time to the factory.
· Assist sales managers with ensuring volume & CSI/SSI commitments to the manufacturer are met
· Develops and maintains a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
· Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed.
· Holds regularly scheduled managers meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
· Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with the dealership's goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
· Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees.
· Coordinates with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
· Develops and delivers merchandising & marketing strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
· Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
Automotive General Manager Requirements:
· At least 6 years as a high volume GM.
· Expertise in Domestic Brands.
· Track record of developing leaders.
· Excellent CSI history.
· Strong asset management skills required.
· Must possess a strong track record of superior results in a high volume dealership.
· Strong new & used car management skills required.
· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and driving record)
