JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To be successful in this role - you'll need to possess an innate attention to detail. We are looking for someone who will embrace a far from one-dimensional HR role. You will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like administering all Company-wide Payroll, handle Benefits Administration processes, Leaves of Absences and assist in executing HR policies. Success here means you come to the table with an astute understanding of CA Employment Practice Law, CA Payroll Law and exceptionally thorough knowledge of Benefit Administration Regulations. Proficient knowledge of ADP and/or Greenleaf and use of the HRIS platform is a ++.

This role will also act as the main point of contact for Payroll and Employee Relations for our employee and external partners - Confidentiality is non-negotiable. Ability to interact and communicate with ALL levels of employees to include our C-Suite with respect and discretion.
Verify and approve final timecards for bi-weekly payroll processing.
Processes payroll by calculating employees pay; distributing checks; maintaining records.
Strong background in HR data collection and analytics analysis with the capability to provide suggestions for process improvements.
Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, employee lists and head count).
Work with Senior HR Leadership on payroll and human resources policies in accordance with new laws and regulations.
Partner with Management to address employee relations matters and escalate to Human Resources Director and/or Corporate Legal as necessary.
Administrative duties include organize and maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases.
Notify existing staff of internal opportunities; maintains personnel records; obtains temporary staff from agencies.
Administer company health insurance, advising employees of eligibility; providing application/enrollment information; helping with form completion; verifying submission; notifying employees of approvals.
Participates in HR projects such as Open Enrollment and Annual Renewal. Thorough knowledge of 401K requirements and regulations specific to Secure Act 2.0.
Monitor and responds to unemployment and disability claims by reviewing claims; substantiating documentation; requesting legal counsel review.
Maintain employee records including but not limited to recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, tracking vacation, sick, and personal time.
Onboards new employees by providing new hire information packets; reviews company policies; gathers withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs.
Keen ability to staff quickly and work under pressure while maintaining organization in order to meet changing deadlines.
Workers Compensation reporting and administration related to injuries and incidents.
Safety and COVD-19 policy enforcement and records maintenance to ensure compliance.
Participate in documentation collection for audits and legal requests.
Document department actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
Accomplish the department and organization mission by completing related results accurately within set deadlines.
Liaison with external partners (e.g., Greenleaf, Brokers and Insurance Vendors).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors Degree from 4-year University
Or SHRM -CP or 4 Years HR task specific experience.
Experience:
4+ years of payroll experience using Greenleaf payroll platform
3+ years of Sr. Human Resources Generalist experience
Skills:
Comfortable working in a Cultivation Cannabis Grow. 80% of work will be completed in our Corporate Cultivation office. 20% or as needed will be in our Executive Corporate Offices.
Knowledge and thorough understanding of cannabis and workers comp regulations as it pertains to the industry.
Previous experience in Human Resources and Payroll, preferably using Greenleaf payroll platform.
Extensive knowledge of labor and employment laws.
Strong EQ with an innate ability to build rapport with all employees.
Proficient computer skills MS Office (Excel, Word etc.).
Strong oral and written communication with effective interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage with all business partners.
Assertive, results driven, self-motivated with ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects.
Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic changing environment.
Ability to work within different locations as needed (Retail, Cultivation and Corporate)
