Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will oversee the overall design and modification of all manufacturing equipment, including maintenance and preventive maintenance of equipment, Facility Engineering functions and Calibration Departments.
Duties:
1.Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing engineering program with respect to:
a. Functional organization structure
b. Technician training and development program
c. Equipment design criteria
d. Equipment capital request justification
e. Equipment technical documentation
f. CAD software management
g. Equipment improvement project identification
2. Support all engineering activities related to the plant pharma operation such as water for injection (WFI) production, mixing process, cleaning (CIP and SIP) process, filling, sterilization with steam and other new projects.
3. Manages all manufacturing equipment maintenance (corrective, preventive and predictive) using technicians and supervisor teams to optimize equipment performance and utilization, develops measures, such as OEE, to determine effectiveness.
4. Responsible for the coordination of all shutdown activities and executing extraordinary maintenance requests and CSR activities.
5. Integrate the Continuous Improvement into the Facilities Engineering area and actively participate in the deployment of the Continuous Improvement Plan.
6. Generate and manage manufacturing engineering / maintenance department annual operational budget and capital expenditure budget.
7. Ensures that recommended equipment spare components are prelisted in stockroom with adequate minimum and maximum inventory levels in accordance with supplier lead time
8. Active participation in the deployment of the Company Production System and the use of Lean Tools in the work area. Participates and ensures team participation in Kaizen events as identified to eliminate non-value-added activities. Works with facilities CI Lead to develop implement, and maintain TPM program in all manufacturing machine areas
9. Support and manage product transfer events with respect to manufacturing equipment relocation, or the development of new manufacturing equipment.
10. Aid Process Engineering as required to implement equipment process improvements.
11. Provide Assistance to manufacturing in the implementation of projects to increase equipment utilization, reduction in material loss, and improving equipment reliability and mitigate technology obsolescence.
12. Ensures that safety procedures and safety equipment are utilized by Technical Personnel as well as Shop Personnel in accordance with the company procedures and OSHA, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001.
13. Evaluate and select required trainings for all Manufacturing Engineering Dept. personnel to ensure capability in supporting an automated equipment environment.
14. Monitor injection molding operations and direct reports in area of responsibility–maintain manufacturing standards, audit for compliance, and improve equipment and processes within the areas.
15. Ensure the operation of all injection molding manufacturing equipment and maintain equipment in optimum conditions. Responsible for the execution of the preventive maintenance program through the molding technical team. This includes but not limited to Injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (thermolators, dryers, material handling equipment).
16. Responsible for the Management of the Calibration Department at the Puerto Rico Operations.
17. Serves as liaison with R/D, technical Services, and manufacturing cross functional teams in the evaluation of machine vendors to develop equipment and provides for new products or capacity expansion.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
