Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager is the primary point of contact with respect to site maintenance activities, including equipment reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, managing contracts for engineering and construction services, and ensuring safe operations in the maintenance department. The maintenance manager is a member of the site leadership team and will eventually have approximately 12 direct or indirect reports.
Essential Duties:
- Lead the maintenance team to ensure that preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and installations of plant equipment and other physical assets are performed in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner.
- Develop plans to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Partner with members of the corporate reliability group to determine the cause of failures and perform investigations and analyses of critical incidents.
- Promote best practices such as Risk Based Assessment, Total Productive Maintenance, and Reliability-Based Inspections.
- Ensure work performed by contractors meets Orion and industry standards.
- Work with procurement to source major, non-standard, or specialty parts; ensure that inventory is managed effectively and that crucial parts are at hand.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering, is required. Degrees in other technical disciplines will be considered for candidates who meet the experience requirements for this position.
- At least 10 years of experience in maintenance and/or reliability in an industrial environment are required for this position; a background in chemicals or refining is a strong plus. Some of this experience may have been acquired in roles such as maintenance planner, reliability engineer, maintenance engineer, maintenance manager, maintenance superintendent, or a similar position.
- At least five years of supervisory experience, to include professional and skilled tradesmen are necessary.
- In depth knowledge of at least one skilled maintenance trade is required; familiarity with multiple crafts is an advantage.
- Expert-level skills working with SAP PM module are essential.
- The successful candidate will be well-versed in OSHA rules and regulations that impact LOTO, hot work, confined space entry, elevated work, and other typical industrial maintenance operations.
- Project management experience would be an advantage.
