Pre-Press Manager

Job Summary
As a working manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of our prepressoperations. You will be hands-on producing press-ready files and plates for offset and print ready
files for offset printing and digital printing. You will work closely with salespeople, customers, job planners and production manager to support the production processes. You will ensure the timely production of proofing and prepress functions, while maintaining efficiency and accuracy throughout the production process.
Education and Experience
10 years or more of hands-on experience - Preferred
Associate's Degree (or other 2-year degree)
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED) Some College Courses
Primary Job Duties
• Prepress and Proofing: Oversee the prepress department, ensuring all files are prepared accurately and efficiently for printing. Implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate proofing and minimize errors. Collaborate with the sales people and customers to review and finalize artwork for printing. Directly work on customer files to prepare for printing.
• Plating, Digital Printing, and Offset Printing: Manage the plating process to ensure plates are prepared correctly for printing presses. Work with the printing operations ensuring high-quality output and adherence to client specifications.
• Research and Software Recommendations: Stay updated with the latest printing technologies, software, and trends in the industry. Conduct research and evaluate new printing software to improve file and job workflow efficiency. Make recommendations to management regarding software upgrades and implementation.
• Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, salespeople and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
• Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure consistently high-quality printed materials. Continuously identify areas for process improvement and cost optimization, proposing and implementing appropriate solutions. Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track the efficiency and effectiveness of printing operations.
• Department Manager: Managing department resources and oversee another Pre-press Technician and/or Digital Press Operator.
• IT Management: Manage external vendors for; Pre-Press systems, Tape Backup Systems, and Monitor Company Server Backup Systems. Tools and Technology MacIntosh and PC Microsoft Office
