RC Health Services AHA Training Center & EMS Academy is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Accountant II. This position will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have the ability to accurately process numerical data and create detailed and relevant reports. They should also have a strong working knowledge of GAAP, managerial accounting, and Excel, be flexible, independent, analytical, and possess exceptional problem solving and time management skills.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries and perform financial statement reconciliation.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports.
- Collect data from various systems; properly organize and classify information into Excel and/or accounting software.
- Provide comprehensive financial updates and reports to CFO, analyzing, and reporting on appropriate data, financial information, and/or trends.
- Perform transaction entry, bank reconciliations, and other various bookkeeping tasks for multiple entities.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing, creating organized and effective reports to be utilized by specified business units and members of management.
- Set up and manage appropriate accruals and cost allocations.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Acquire, maintain and utilize a working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
- Other assigned tasks as defined by the CFO.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Preferred).
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting procedures and best practices.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software, with excellent computer literacy skills, particularly in MS Excel for data entry and computation.
- Proven time management skills and ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
- Respect for confidentiality of information, regulatory laws, and ethical standards.
- Self-starter intrinsically motivated with accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Highly organized with effective technical, mathematical, and analytical skills.
