Located in Houston Texas and reporting to the VP, Global P&C the Director, P&C USA is accountable to lead a proactive, critically thinking, business savvy, operationally excellent P&C function that partners effectively with our USA Leadership Teams. The five key accountabilities are to:
- Role model and reinforce our ONEParkland culture
- ‘Fix the bridge and stop pulling bodies from the water’ – partner with COE’s to ensure design and implementation of efficient and effective P&C policies, programs and services (processes and procedures) to leaders and employees that support sustainable business growth.
- Provide thought leadership to the USA Leadership team, to ensure that business decisions drive highly engaged and effective people.
- Nurture the team of business savvy, critically thinking and consultative Business Partners[2] (BPs) who work with the P&C COE’s to develop and then implement P&C solutions to ‘Fix Bridges’, meanwhile providing support for employee relations situations.
- Numerate – ensure that the USA’s HRIS data is 100% accurate and use the data to report out P&C data and metrics on a monthly and/or quarterly basis to identify trends and issues (identify where bodies are in the water and fix the bridge!)
Responsibilities
- Enable the USA BP’s to easily deliver exceptional People Relations services to the business
- Partner with USA Leadership Team to understand their business and facilitate the development of an annual P&C workplan that enables USA business goals, including but not limited to:
- Activation of annual P&C programs with focus on continuous improvement
- People challenges that requires a solution from the COEs
- Opportunities to activate USA specific people solutions to support business growth
- Ensure the BP team is partnering with USA Leadership to build and implement change leadership plans for all changes impacting employees to achieve the goal of highly engaged and productive employees (for example, the SAP implementation)
- Partner with the COE’s to ensure effective policies, programs, processes, procedures and reporting are in place for the USA Business Partners and USA leaders
- Lead the BP team of business savvy, critical thinkers who proactively and reactively solve problems with the business
- Ensure design and implementation of all required Parkland P&C Policies address the required elements to meet the USA regional requirements (start with ONEParkland and curate regional needs)
- Report monthly on progress of annual objectives and USA P&C KPI’s and metrics
- Lead people initiatives related to future M&A, Integration and Divestitures transaction to support employee engagement through thoughtful change management (as required)
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of progressive People & Culture/Human Resources experience required
- 5+ years of P&C Business Partner Team leadership required
- Bachelor Degree required, preference for major in Business or Human Resources
- Sci Change Management certification and/or Project Management Certification an asset
- PMP certification and vision skills an asset
Demonstrated ability to:
- Numerate P&C data to generate insights for the business
- Hold team accountable for HCM data integrity
- Partner with P&C Centers of Excellence
- Coach leaders through change planning and implementation
- Develop the BP team to achieve their career aspirations
- Identify, understand and articulate client needs, generate opportunities an suggest approaches for addressing issues
