Job Description: Job Summary

The Network Operations Control (NOC) Operations Services and Planning Specialist delivers on our Purpose by sup porting the scheduling, payroll, and daily functions of all Dispatchers and Meteorologists. This role will report on staffing trends to ensure that levels are sufficient to maintain a safe and efficient operation. The NOC Ops Services and Planning Specialist is an organized collaborator and strong communicator, who is ready to drive the future of Southwest’s NOC Planning Team.

Responsibilities
Recognize, and clearly define problems to systematically analyze and evaluate alternatives and propose solutions
Support and maintain standard annual, monthly, training, vacation, and daily schedules in the Company's scheduling system for Dispatchers, Meteorologists, ATC, Customer Planners, and Chiefs
Develop working knowledge of payroll processes/requirements, actively partners with Company Teams to manage issues/discrepancies, and serves as a check-and-balance for payroll activities conducted by the Team
Conduct audits, reporting, and ad hoc inquiries
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of scheduling and payroll procedures and systems
Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Skilled in intermediate computer analysis and understanding common business software applications, as well as being able to learn and effectively use a variety of other software tools and applications
Skilled in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Ability to apply work rules of collective bargaining agreements
Ability to analyze, handle & resolve complex project issues, make sound decisions and be able to interface well with People at all levels within the Company
Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
Airline operations or equivalent operations experience, workforce management, payroll, and/or scheduling
Working with Union contract groups
Customer service and Hospitality
Licensing/Certification
N/A
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be able to work extended hours and varying shifts including nights and weekends, based on schedule and operational needs
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $69,400.00 per year to $ 77,100.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
