Job Title: Kubernetes Administrator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kubernetes Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing Kubernetes clusters at an enterprise level and a robust understanding of on-premise systems and DevOps practices. This role involves deploying updates, managing cluster life cycles, and building automation using GitOps. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Kubernetes container platform.
- Oversee cluster life cycle management, including deploying updates and OS patches in Kubernetes clusters.
- Build and implement automation using GitOps.
- Provide backup support and coordinate with the DevOps team for seamless operations.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure and network teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of on-prem systems.
- Host virtual office hours to provide guidance and answer questions related to Kubernetes administration.
- Facilitate virtual trainings and provide support for application updates and enhancements.
- Attend or host ticket reviews and Champion feedback sessions to drive continuous improvement and adoption.
- Communicate effectively with the digital solutions team regarding enhancements and additional training needs.
- Support the project manager in training logistics, such as event planning, LMS tracking, and coordinating class resources.
Qualifications:
- Total of 7 to 8 years of experience in on-premise systems and DevOps.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in managing Kubernetes clusters at the enterprise level.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is preferred.
- Proficient scripting skills in Python and strong knowledge of Linux.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of on-premise systems such as VMware, infrastructure, and network.
- Optional: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with project management and the ability to coordinate training logistics effectively.
