Job Description: The Math Specialist Teacher is responsible for providing targeted math instruction, enrichment, and support to students across various grade levels. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Spiritual Qualifications:
- It is required that a teacher know and proclaim Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
- Believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God.
- Believe and support the church’s statement of faith.
- Demonstrate and pursue spiritual growth.
- Be an active member of a Bible-believing church.
Teaching:
- Utilize the data collection tools to effectively gather information about student understanding of math concepts.
- Plan and teach engaging math lessons in a lab setting, catering to different learning styles and ability levels.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, manipulatives, and technology to effectively deliver math concepts.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align instruction with the school's math curriculum and standards.
- Assist classroom teachers in differentiating math instruction and modifying lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Small Group Instruction:
- Work with classroom teachers to identify students who need additional support or enrichment in math through ongoing assessment and data analysis.
- Pull small groups of students for targeted interventions, remediation, or advanced instruction based on their specific needs.
- Implement research-based intervention strategies and monitor student progress regularly.
Public Relations:
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with other employees.
- Assisting in providing information to parents or community groups about school data.
- Working to establish and maintain open lines of communication with scholars and their parents concerning academic and behavioral progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certificate or license in the appropriate subject area and grade level, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of math concepts, curriculum standards, and instructional best practices.
- Experience in differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, and using a variety of assessment tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
