We are seeking a PAT Resistered Nurse to join our team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center. The PAT RN has responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with the Center, AAAHC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state, and local guidelines for pre-op testing requirements.
PAT RN responsibilities:
- Conducts preoperative interview and patient teaching which includes the following: health history, confirms that the patient understands the procedure scheduled, what to do the night before surgery, that the patient must have a family member or friend with then and that the patient cannot drive after the procedure.
- Review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG results
- To review any concern or health issues with Anesthesia and communicate this information on to the office surgical scheduler.
- To work closely with the PACU nurses: Track issues that are trending and work at developing action plans for process flow improvement.
- Preadmission- Interviewing and assessment of the patient to identify potential or actual problems.

- Adherence to the Center’s policies and procedures and the Profession Standards of Nursing practice.
- Accuracy - records all care information concisely, accurately and completely.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the age specific needs of the center’s patient population when providing care and education on care.
- Ability to evaluate outcomes of care and adjusts nursing care processes to meet the patient’s individual needs.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to evaluate patients.
- Participates in staff development, continuous quality improvement activities, and regulatory requirements.
- Protects the privacy, confidentiality and security of personal health information.

Qualifications
- Current and valid licensure as a Registered nurse
- Minimum two years experience in PACU, ED or ICU setting
- BLS
