Cal Coast Telecom is a well-established growing company that specializes in Low Voltage Voice, Data Cabling, Audio Visual and Security Systems.
We are seeking an individual who can assist with day-to-day safety responsibilities and special projects in our San Jose office. We are a union shop and travel for site inspections to job sites within California is required.
Experience in safety for construction is necessary. There is training available for our Sound & Communications field. We use ProContractor Software and can train on specific software usage, however prior experience with relational database software systems is a plus.

Software Knowledge Required:
Proficient Knowledge of: Microsoft Office – MS Teams / Excel / Word / Outlook is a must
Desired Experience: PDF writer software (Adobe and/or Nuance)
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Perform jobsite inspections
Review all safety contracts for all new jobs
Perform incident investigations and Gap Analysis
Coordinate and manage quarterly safety training
Coordinate and oversee safety drills
Initiate and manage courses such as CPR, Scissor Lift, Forklift training
Maintain safety records, certifications, and renewals
Coordinate and maintain Toolbox Talks program
Stay current and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
Maintain IIPP and SDS manuals
Assist with Workers’ Compensation and OSHA Logs
Partner with third-party providers
Safety Committee Chair
Assist with PPE gear inventory
Provide excellent customer service to employee base
Qualifications / Skills:
3-4 years experience in a Safety role
Bachelor’s degree
Valid OSHA 30 and CPR Certification
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
Ability to work through multiple interruptions
Detail orientated with a high level of accuracy a must
Ability to budget time well and meet deadlines
A team player with an outgoing personality, strong work ethic, and take-charge attitude
Experienced in and committed to service, support, and engagement with employees
Drug Screen and Background Check Required
Clean DMV driving record and current driver’s license
Shift: 7:30AM – 4:30PM Monday – Friday

Pay: $69,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
