SEIU Represented Full Time (37.5 hours/week) position
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Applicant will be Full Time Nurse providing quality nursing care in Public Health’s Family Connects Program.
Family Connects Nurses care for the infant and the mother in the postpartum transition with home visiting
services. Applicant will need to perform a variety of community health nursing duties, participating actively in
program planning, representing community health nursing in community groups by providing nursing
expertise and support. Also, must have the ability to provide highly skilled professional nursing in a designated
area or specialty such as community health and home visiting and have the ability to utilize the nursing
process in the establishment of care for our clients.
- Assess, plan, evaluate and implement general community health nursing service in assigned area of
responsibility or special program.
- Make home, office or telehealth visits, giving direct patient care within the scope of standing orders,
explaining basic concepts of prevention of disease and promotion of mental and
physical health; teaching and demonstrating to patients and families nursing care, and assisting
families in understanding health needs and methods of meeting needs.
- Plan and exchange information with physicians and other health workers for more effective care of the
individual patient; take responsibility for development of community organization and planning for
health services with community groups.
- Maintain records for nursing services to families and clinics, and make reports as required.
- Develop and maintain effective, harmonious and reasonable work relationships with others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Qualified candidate must possess a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon. Possession
of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment may
be a condition of employment.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery or Nursery/NICU Nursing preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
