Admissions Specialist
The Admissions Specialist works as a member of an interdisciplinary Intake Team for all Jasper Mountain Agency programs. The Admissions Specialist manages the receipt of all referrals, processing referrals through phases of assessment, ensuring compliance with the Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs).
Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of referral requirements and administrative rules (OARs) for psychiatric residential treatment services (PRTS).

Demonstrate a clear understanding of PRTS clientele and services provided.

Ability to professionally coordinate with multidisciplinary teams both internally and community based.

Demonstrate basic therapeutic skills in verbal de-escalation techniques and support for families in crisis.

Receive and process referrals with guidance from the Mental Health Assessment & Access Coordinator (Intake Team Lead).

Coordinate with office/admin and the finance department in all programs regarding data and referral tracking, as well as discharge tracking.
- Ensure client files are organized and up-to-date.
- Follow OHA regulations pertaining to your scope of work.
- Review referral files for completeness.

Complete a “Matrix” assessment on each referral.
- Coordinate with the Intake Team and MH & Access Coordinator to process referrals and plan admissions.

Communicate with insurances and other state agencies for admissions coordination.
- Upload complete referral into agency server for review and in-person screening by the MH Assessment & Access Coordinator.

Professionally and accurately communicate with the JMC team and with referral sources both verbally and in writing.

Maintain ongoing internal and external weekly data tracking.

Attend weekly staff, pre-planning, and transition meetings, as well as monthly quality assurance meetings.

Ability to support Agency clients in crisis when necessary both psychologically and physically, i.e., during intake, when the program needs extra support, during evacuations and/or other crises.
- Support the intake team during intake meetings (biopsychosocial interview); ability to give campus tours on foot or via car (clean and professional appearing), ability to support teams in paperwork completion, ability to answer questions regarding the function of the program, services rendered, clients’ daily schedule, contact information for clients, clinicians, and supervisors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation
This position starts at $25.87/hour and increases with additional education and relevant experience.
Supervision & Training
This position is under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a social services/mental health related field preferred.
- Excellent efficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe, Teams, etc.
- Experience and knowledge in mental health and social services supporting youth and families.

Therapeutic skills necessary to support youth and families (verbally/psychologically).
- Experience in administrative services.

Demonstrate strong writing and verbal communication skills in a professional manner.

Very strong organizational and time management skills, including being a self-starter.

Ability to accurately track data consistently.

Ability to network professionally and maintain community contacts.
- Ability to adjust actions based on feedback and ability to give feedback productively.
