Accredo Packaging, Inc. manufactures and supplies sustainable high value added, flexible packaging, predominantly for the pre-packaged foods and consumer products markets in North America. We are currently seeking an Extrusion Supervisor for the Night Shift at our Sugar Land, Texas facility.
The Extrusion Supervisor directs all day-to-day activities of the Extrusion Department and its supporting departments in adhering to production schedules and targets. This position ensures that all Extrusion personnel and support groups understand and follow Accredo Packaging’s safety policies and uphold company values. The Extrusion Supervisor must foster teamwork, supervise the training of all employees, and develop the personal and career growth of the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met daily.
- Ensure teamwork and effective communication to follow production schedules and meet production targets, including keeping scrap low.
- Develop the personal and career growth of individual team members through mentorship and regular training using established training programs at Accredo Packaging.
- Ensure that all training completions are up-to-date and that employees from other departments with no experience are cross trained to function in the Extrusion Department.
- Mentor strong leaders who can execute department goals, who take personal responsibility for meeting those goals, and who can think critically and act independently.
- Be an active participant in creating and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Complete required reports (shift reports, production reports, scrap reports, etc.), performance reviews, and other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
- Communicate to all levels of the company by email, calls, and other tools provided in an effective and timely manner.
- Attend all mandatory team meetings and trainings.
- Prepare for all GMP, BRC, and other audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Education: HS diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in WH blown film equipment; 3+ years of supervisory experience; Knowledge in regulatory and quality compliance standards under OSHA, GMP, and BRC; Experience with 3- to 9-layer blown film applications preferred; Lean certifications
- Skills: Leadership, team building, coaching and continuous improvement; Excellent communication skills
