Shifts: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm and 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
with Rotating Days Off
General Purpose: Learn a variety of different job duties such as, Table Operator duties, Brine Operator duties and RMC Operator duties to be able to act as a relief for these 3 different positions on their days off.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete all Table Operator duties and responsibilities
- Complete all Cooker/RMC Operator duties and responsibilities
- Complete all Loader Operator duties and responsibilities
- Prepare each vat according to recipe
- Monitor curd pH's and add ingredients as needed
- Adjust cheese cook temperatures as needed for different recipes
- Mold cheese to proper weight and shape
- Submit sample for lab testing
- Take representative samples of vats to the lab for testing
- Maintain good vat separation
- Monitor the flow of incoming and outgoing cheese
- Clean brine filters every 2 hours
- Complete production logs accurately
- Change RMC molds safely
- Clean and CIP the Cooker as needed
- Clean and CIP the Tables as needed
- Assist the CIP crew as needed
- Maintain work area up to 5S standards
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
- Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
- Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
- Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
- Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
- Responsible for monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan
- Ensure that all documentation is done correctly and turned in promptly

Pay
- Competitive pay $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience
- Rate includes $1.00 shift differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Must have basic math experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work over time when required
- Must be able to learn basic computer skills for touch screen operation
- Must participate in the safety observation, 5S and Leader Standard Work program
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
