Farm Equipment / Ride Maintenance Mechanic
Southern Hill Farms is a family owned and operated u-pick farm looking to hire a farm Equipment / ride maintenance mechanic.

The ride maintenance mechanic’s duties will include managing our rides and keeping them in top condition. Our priority is to provide a safe and fun experience for our guests.
The technician who performs maintenance on the amusement park ride machinery will be responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of ride mechanical systems.
Job duties involve ensuring the safety of each ride. To ensure safe operations, the amusement park ride mechanic needs to inspect the rides regularly and is expected to repair rides and keep them operating while the farm is open to guests.
The Southern Hill Farms amusement rides for the u-pick farm are a Carousel, Cyclone Swing, Super Slide, Rock Climbing Wall, Berry-Go-round, Pirate Ship several inflatables and Bungee Trampoline, Tilt-a-whirl, Frog Jumper.
Responsibilities:
- Complete scheduled inspections create necessary work orders for discrepancies found.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all rides!
- Perform repairs to maintain ride safety!
- Document all repairs!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and Vocational training focused.
- Skills gained working as an apprentice or received on-the-job training as an assistant.
- Safety training required.
Experience:
- 3 years’ experience or training focused on the repair and engineering of pneumatics, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and other systems used in the operation of amusement park ride machinery.

The farm equipment mechanic duties will work with the farm management team
in prioritizing equipment repairs, accurate schedule and record of repairs while ensuring open communication is maintained.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable shop that is adequately locked in protection
· Maintain all equipment in a usable and safe condition /must be operable a minimum of one month before anticipated use.
· Utilize record-keeping and maintenance scheduling records
· Recommend in-house and outside repairs and purchases for farm equipment as needed
· Assist in maintaining while minimizing ordering of adequate inventory for used parts; fluids; oils; filters
· Will assist in managing inventory of regular used equipment accessories including hitch/lynchpins; tires; tubes; bolts; nuts; washers; nails; tools; welding supplies; building materials; and charged batteries
· Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and equipment dealers
· Assemble new equipment as needed
· Design, estimate and fabricate all requested projects in a cost-effective and efficient method
· Conduct requested fieldwork as needed
Qualifications:
· Experience in building, mechanics, fabrication techniques, welding, brazing, mig /stick preferred, tractor and equipment operation and maintenance.
· Extensive knowledge and experience in gasoline and diesel engine maintenance and repair
· Computer experience – Word and Outlook programs helpful
· Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
· Clean driving record preferred.

· Capable of bending, pulling, lift to 50 pounds.

· Freely access all areas of the company including remote fields
