Grand Junction Gastroenterology is the largest gastroenterology group serving Western Colorado. Our staff currently includes 5 board certified Gastroenterologists, 3 Physician Assistants and over 23 employees. Our goal is to provide our patients, referring physicians and the surrounding community with the best, most comprehensive, and highest quality of care possible.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited High School, or equivalent.
Must be able to read and communicate English language.
Strong computer skills.
Excellent telephone skills.
Medical Experience valuable.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this position successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties; this is not an all-inclusive list.

Communicate appropriately and clearly to providers, practice administrator and co-workers.
Treat patients, family and co-workers with respect and dignity.
Excellent customer service/phone skills.
Answer telephone in a polite and professional manner.
Schedule endoscopic procedures with accuracy.
Accurate computer data entry.
Coordinate procedures with other departments and facilities.
Perform job duties according to highest priority; answering telephone, working fax queue, schedule referrals, follow-up calls, and recalls.
Accurately send out appointment and prep instructions to the patient.
Collect patient outstanding balance(s) prior to scheduling procedure.
Communicate complete and accurate information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner; tasking via the EMR, or email.
Maintain a safe environment for patient, co-workers and self.
Check for insurance eligibility.
Notify referring physicians of patient appointments and cancellations.
Acknowledges patient’s rights on confidentiality, maintains patient confidentiality at all times, and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Maintain & secure PHI.
Other duties as assigned.
