FlexPackPRO®, a leading OEM of direct printing systems and patented material handling solutions, is looking for a Field Service Technician to be based out of Scottville / Ludington, Michigan.

FlexPackPRO® has a corporate office in Fort Mill, SC, sales office in Kalkaska, MI and a Michigan Service Facility in Scottville, Michigan. The position of Field Service Technician will include travel, both in / out of state, as well as work + support that is required at our facility in Scottville.
Responsibilities To Include:
- Performing installation of multiple printing technologies within the FlexPackPRO equipment portfolio
- Conducting equipment site surveys, presentations, and equipment demonstrations
- Providing technical support to customers including assessing, diagnosing, and repairing to various levels of expertise.
- Training and supporting both distributors and end users in operation, installation, software use, diagnosis, and repair of systems
- Responding to emergency service calls
- Completing tasks accurately, thoroughly, and with focus on quality; in accordance with established FlexPackPRO processes and procedures
- Performing job duties in a manner that demonstrates ability to achieve the expected level of efficiency, quality, and customer service; as established by FlexPackPRO®
Physical demands can / will include:
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist
- Ability to safely manage, handle, and carry items that can weigh up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in several types of industrial manufacturing and processing environments
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience and proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D design software
- Information Technology (IT) proficiency, systems & technology integration experience, integrating databases with software, network fundamentals, etc.
- Understanding of label design / label printing software; including CPCL and ZPL command languages
- Strong interpersonal and communication skillsets
- Self-motivated and always striving to provide excellent service
- Highly organized
- Experience with industrial automation
- Fundamental understanding + operational use of packaging and labeling equipment
- Understanding the purpose and function of PLC's
- Understanding the purpose, function, and operation of several encoder types
- Ability to read and interpret machine interface schematics
- Identifying and connecting input / output devices
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs
- Knowledge of TeamViewer is incredibly helpful
- Working knowledge of AC Circuits, with the goal of identifying and connecting to main supplies for equipment (110/220 VAC single phase)
- Working knowledge of DC Circuits, with goal of identifying, connecting, sensing, and signaling between various systems and components (Generally 24VDC).
- Ability to create simple circuits which includes adding relays to voltage outputs to convert to dry contact
- Proficiency with multimeter operation
- Common wiring, soldering, termination, and circuit testing
- Ability to accurately measure and record structures of packaging machine(s), label applicators and other industrial equipment
- Ability to accurately locate, drill, and tap holes in a variety of metals
- Ability to fabricate and assemble skillset tools
