**Job Title:** Administrative Assistant - Building and Planning Dept
**Job Summary:**
This position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the City staff and elected/appointed officials as well as general office management duties. The position provides customer service, process various applications, inspections, licenses, and permits related to the construction of commercial and residential properties. The permit technician provides customer service at the front desk of the City Center and may answer general inquiries regarding a variety of City services and support.
**Responsibilities:**
- The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Answers phones and greets visitors; screens and directs calls to appropriate office or person; provides information as requested; assists customers with completing forms.
· Assist in general office management duties as necessary, which include ordering of office supplies, organization and inventory of office supplies, operational knowledge and ensuring proper working condition of shared office equipment.
· Screens calls and visitors and refers questions to the appropriate staff or department.
· Assists in the coordination of inspections, re-inspections, code enforcement and other scheduling for inspection staff and customers.
· Assists in release of information and filing, including but not limited to, U.S. census reporting and escrow data.
· Permitting Process and Filing
· Informs permit/project applicants of city requirements, processes, and deadlines from time of initial contact to completion of the project.
· Responsible for creation, coordination, and archiving of required documentation/signatures, maintenance, and coordination of active and archived permit files.
· Code Enforcement and Occupancies
· Responsible for various administrative tasks related to Code Enforcement and Occupancies, including but not limited to, preparing correspondence, certifying letters, coordination of court materials, creation of separate court file, certifying citations, and assisting in final approval of occupancies.
· Performs clerical duties: enters data into computer; creates databases, lists and generates reports; prepares official city documents and disseminates engineering & zoning permits.
· Assist in the processing of payments for permits, licenses, park reservations as well as taxes and fees due the City as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.w!

Pay: $19.17 - $25.54 per hour
