Job Purpose:
Our Equipment Service Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, installing and repairing worn or defective equipment at customer sites following blueprints, manufacturer’s instructions and utilizing knowledge of mechanical and electrical machinery. This position will also operate equipment through trial runs to ensure that quality and rate of production meet specifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete field service work orders including in depth job notes, parts and other related items in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform a variety of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, electro-mechanical tests, repair and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Conduct setup calibration, testing, mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting of circuits, components and instruments using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics. Provide subject matter expertise, training and product demonstrations of Mavpak packaging systems and related equipment if needed.
- Perform repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, case sealing, label printers, strapping equipment and assorted products at customer and Mavpak company sites.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Certifications from manufacture training on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealers, case erectors, label printers and strapping equipment or related products considered a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, electrical symbols and how power flows through circuitry. Understand and demonstrate proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
- Can install, troubleshoot, train and work on most basic mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret pneumatic, mechanical and electrical drawings for installing and troubleshooting equipment sold by Mavpak.
- Understand AC and DC voltages and can use an electric meter in troubleshooting scenarios
- Troubleshooting skills – diagnosing and troubleshooting basic electrical, pneumatic energy sources.
- 1+ years related job experience performing repairs and maintenance on any industrial or production related equipment and machinery.
- Experience with mechanical systems, industrial automation, HVAC or any electrical systems considered a plus.
