Job Specific Duties
- Beverage Preparation: Craft high-quality coffee, espresso, teas, and specialty drinks according to recipes.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly, personalized service to patients, visitors, and staff, resolving inquiries and complaints courteously.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized café environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
- Cash Handling and POS Operation: Handle transactions accurately using the POS system and balance cash drawers.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and hospital staff for smooth operations.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Special Requests: Accommodate dietary needs and prepare beverage orders for hospital events.
- Professional Development: Participate in training to enhance barista skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Supportive Environment: Create a welcoming atmosphere, offering compassionate interactions to support hospital patrons.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with special projects, events, and additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations and goals of the hospital café and broader hospital community.
What you will need
- Previous barista experience preferred, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a diverse team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or a related field is a plus
