We are looking for a general manager in the Portland, OR market. This is an exciting role where you are around entrepreneurs every day and can be creative. This is not a corporate job; the company executives are always accessible and involved in the business. This is an opportunity to show your personality and really make the location your own.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
- First and foremost, this role involves talking to members and prospective members and pitching the benefits of our facility to them.
- Oversee a single ReadySpaces location, which is a combined warehouse and office space.
- License space to new members, communicate with and manage existing members, including collections, maintain accurate records, and solve issues.
- Field members call and answer emails about the business and the location.
- Tour potential members through the building, follow up with prospective member leads, and prepare paperwork.
- Check in with contractors or other service providers doing work at the building and ensure work is being done to specification.
- Encourage good behavior among members and enforce ReadySpaces policies.
- Work with the corporate team to monitor and adjust marketing efforts.
- Network with local small businesses and real estate agents to publicize the business and attract customers, as needed.
- Collaborate with other general managers and corporate employees to determine best-practice policies and procedures and to design enhanced offerings and products.
- Complete reports and records in a timely manner.
- Complete other duties as directed by members of the executive team and other supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales role is required
- Previous experience in operations role(s) required
- Our General Managers typically work business hours but are required to be on-call for emergencies whenever needed
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to effectively use search to find information online
- Organization and attention to detail, especially with respect to collecting rents and maintaining accurate records of tenants
- Initiative: the confidence to make decisions on your own and act without specific instructions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military service
- Minimal travel is required, and a passport is required.
