Blooma Tree Experts is seeking an ISA-Certified Arborist (ideally TRAQ) who can estimate and sell residential tree work. The company has 18+ years experience providing top-quality tree work to clients all over Seattle, with a focus on pruning & trimming, as well as removals & stump grinding. Our crew leaders are all ISA-Certified and our clients value high-quality work.
This is not a commission-based / quota-based role. We believe that great, high-integrity arborists make great "sales" arborists. Your job is to build trust with clients by providing good advice - the sales will follow. We don't push unnecessary tree removals.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience in residential tree work (former climber would be perfect), understands the PNW trees/shrubs really well, and communicates effectively with clients. If you used to be a climber or crew leader but don't want to work in the trees anymore, this role would be perfect for you.
Job Duties:
- Use company-provided vehicle to meet with clients at their homes to provide recommendations & estimates for their tree work.
- Writing up estimates and communicating a clear work plan to the office team & crew leaders
- Flexible hours to be managed on a week-to-week basis with office staff that schedules the estimate appointments. Options to do five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or three days during the week and one day during the weekend, etc.
Requirements:
- ISA-Certified Arborist with multiple years of residential tree service experience
- Strong tree and shrub identification skills
- Deep knowledge of ANSI-standards pruning, including ornamental and fruit trees (majority of our work is pruning)
- Understanding (or ability to learn) city rules around tree removals (Seattle tree code, street trees, etc.)
- Strong communication & sales skills as the vast majority of the work is explaining jobs to customers, and then translating that into clear scopes of work for the crews.
- Ability to think through potential logistics of job sites (where will trucks park, how many climbers will job need, equipment required, etc.)
- Valid Driver’s License
Desired but not required:
- Prior experience as an estimator or project manager in tree services
- Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
Compensation:
- Salaried position. Target total earnings of $60K to $110K, of which roughly 10-15% will be allocated to a mid-year & end-of-year bonus based on personal & company performance. The wide range is based on the wide levels of experience that may apply for this role.
- Access to company vehicle during the workweek, including commute.
- ~11 paid holidays per year, PTO (to be discussed with candidates). We also take the week between Christmas and New Years off as an unpaid holiday, which includes the annual bonus payment.
- 100% company-paid medical insurance
- 401(k) with 4% employer match
