The Engineering Manager will plan, organize and direct maintenance personnel & programs in all phases of the operation to assure the facility operates in a highly efficient manner. A highly efficient manner is one in which utilization rates are constantly being monitored and maintained at as high of a level as possible (100% being the goal). Assure that the plant equipment is maintained in a proactive manner.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the performance of equipment such as boilers, cooling towers, refrigeration systems (Ammonia and Freon), water systems and HVAC units in order to detect signs of malfunction or degradation.
- Manage Maintenance staff and properly structure the team to ensure we have the right resources.
- Works with contracted agencies to ensure contracted work is within performance standards.
- Conducting research on new technology for more efficient and cost-effective ways of operating manufacturing processes.
- Analyzing data to determine the need for repairs or maintenance to machinery or equipment.
- Monitoring the progress of capital projects to ensure that they are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
- Coordinating with plant personnel to ensure that all systems are running smoothly.
- Conduct cost savings and payback studies to assist in recommended changes.
- Monitoring and maintaining water quality, pH levels, and other chemical properties to ensure that they meet standards set by State and Federal agencies.
- Performing preventative maintenance on machinery to reduce repair costs and improve efficiency.
- Manage Effluent Discharge to ensure compliance and ensure regulatory documentation is completed as needed.
- Works with department heads to ensure the Plant runs at a high level of efficiency.
- Maintains documentation of capital projects and related equipment.
- Ensures contractors adhere to GMP and Housekeeping procedures/policy.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the departments. Be proactive in identifying needs and promote the TEAM approach to fulfilling these needs.
- Possesses a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
- Help coordinate and plan down day activities.
- Support our maintenance team in continuous improvement activities.
- Schedule down day tasks and resources.
- Availability 24/7 to support the plant during off hours.
- Maintains plant records and drawings related to the infrastructure and design.
Work/Education/Experience Requirements:
- 3 to 5+ years combined experience in plant processes including demonstrated knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, refrigeration, boiler operation and maintenance and refrigeration.
- PC literate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extended Shelf-Life experience preferred
- Working with Conveyors
- Auto-Cad experience
- Ability to read schematics and piping diagrams
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines that includes thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, thermochemistry, process control and systems engineering.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
