SUMMARY: The Donor Database Specialist will be the administrator of the donor database to include all functions related to the entry, maintenance and reporting of data. The Donor Database Specialist will help with prospect research and support, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. This position will also assist in the development, planning, execution and follow up of fundraising appeals, events and other solicitations. The Donor Database Specialist will also assist in other administrative functions such as grants management and record keeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes (other duties may be assigned):
Raiser’s Edge Management:
● Manage the development, enhancement and support of the Raiser’s Edge database and Raiser’s Edge NXT as well as system updates.
● Maintain the overall integrity and quality of the donor database including regular data improvement and hygiene, enforcement of database business processes and management of code values, business rules and other set-up functions of the database.
● Develop and implement procedures and processes for accurate data entry.
● Maintain a standardization of data entry to Raiser’s Edge that allows for reports and data exports to meet the needs of the organization.
● Maintenance and administration of user accounts and security for Raiser’s Edge.
● Provide support and training in the use of Raiser’s Edge including orientation for all new staff using the software and specialized training in response to changing roles, business processes and database functionality.
● Help reconcile donations entered with donations per the accounting procedures.
● Import and export data to and from other software to maintain agency records and data accuracy.
● Maintain and update mailing lists, financial records and printed labels.
● Coordinate gift tracking and acknowledgement systems.
● Generate reports of gifts and pledges for use by internal and external stakeholders.
● Review, update and manage donor lists on an on-going basis to solicit donors at the appropriate solicitation levels.
● Coordinate direct mail campaigns with Development staff and others.
Other Fund Development Functions:
● Work with Development staff to inform potential contributors of agency needs and encourage individuals, corporations and foundations to contribute.
● Assist in the development and implementation of automated contact management processes within Raiser’s Edge.
● Produce matching grant reports.
● Assist in the production of events as needed.
Grants Management:
● Maintain grant documents with contacts and related information for agency grants – follow up on missing documents.
● Schedule grant reporting reminders to program staff.
● Maintain a spreadsheet detailing grant activity agency wide.
● Prepare quarterly grant report for board of directors.
Other:
● Attend all required staff meetings.
● Regular and consistent attendance.
● Work as an advocate for TrueNorth and its programs.
● Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A combination of the experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
● 3 to 5 years experience in database management with preference given to experience with Blackbaud products.
● 2 to 4 years experience designing, developing and generating reports from a relational database. Database management experience is highly desirable.
