NVL Laboratories, Inc. provides full service Industrial hygiene services including testing and environmental safety services for our clients. Services included but not limited to asbestos, lead(Pb) & other heavy metals, Hexavalent Chromium(Cr6) mold, Indoor Air Quality, Silica etc.. We have been operating nationally and internationally for over 23 years and is the premier testing laboratory in the Puget Sound region. We are an AIHA-IHLAP, AIHA-ELLAP, AIHA-EMLAP, NVLAP, WADOE for drinking water, DOD and WADOE for RCRA Metals accredited laboratory and an EPA certified Lead (Pb) Firm
We are currently looking for an "LAB ANALYST Trainee".
Training will be provided to selected candidates in the following areas:-
Asbestos testing
Responsibilities:
* Performs sample handling, Prep and Analysis for
* Performs Data Entry accurately and efficiently as required
* Performs and remains current in all QA/QC practices in accordance with the company QA/QC manual
* Completes all sample analyses accurately and report the results in a timely manner
* Adheres to safety rules and awareness, demonstrates good safety practices at all times. Takes initiative to report and correct safety hazards.
* Successfully participates in proficiency tests
* Performs day to day operations in the lab following the set SOP
* Demonstrates willingness to be cross-trained and operate various laboratory instruments
* Participates in departmental meetings and training seminars when scheduled
* Establishes and maintains good working relationships with co-workers and performs effectively in a team environment
* Maintains professional attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts
* Performs all duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Earth Science, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Botany or related science plus
* Must have excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite
* The ability to work well in a team environment
* Good organizational skills and the ability to multi task
* Requires a strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Must be willing and able to work some weekends and overtime when necessary to meet business demands
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
* Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
* Visual acuity to read, to determine color, depth perception and field of vision
* Dexterity to write, grasp objects and perform simple arithmetic calculations
* Ability to stand for sustained periods of time, sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and walk without assistance
* Ability to conduct repetitive motions using hands, wrists and fingers
* Ability to talk and hear at normal speaking levels
* Ability to use fingers to pick up, pinch and type on a computer keyboard without assistance
