Job Summary:
Commercial Electrical Foreman applicants shall have a background in industrial electric, motor controls, instrumentation and calibration. Applicants must possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Applicant shall have a positive mindset and an eagerness to learn the ins and outs of our craft.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install complete electrical raceways systems such as EMT, RMC, PVC, cable tray, troughs and more.
- Install wires and cables through electrical raceways.
- Install panelboards, switchboards, switchgears, MCC, and control panels.
- Install various forms of switching and receptacle outlet devices.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls circuitry and devices up to 480VAC.
- Install various forms of luminaires.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
- Install motors, transformers, and generators.
- Install communications, ethernet, and fiber optic lines.
- Install VFDs, PLC, control relays, power supplies, safety relays, proximity switches, and other instrumentation and control devices.
- Test electrical systems installation to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Connect electrical systems to utility power.
- Participate in continuous safety and electrical education.
- Travel to different job sites.
- Work overtime, nights, weekends and or holidays as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to use the NEC code book.
- Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment.
- Posses analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot power and control circuits.
- Ability to bend various size conduits.
- Ability to program VFDs and PLC is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or at least five (5) years of experience working in the electrical industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Other Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have own means of transportation.
- Subject to drug test.
