Job Summary
Responsible for interacting with customers and processing all deposit, savings, and loan transactions including complex transactions. Complex transactions including Holds, CTRs, Stop Payments, Overdrawn Accounts, Statement or Transaction Errors, Account Opening, Account Closing, Certificate of Deposits, etc. Complete various customer service maintenance requests. Follow Danville State Savings Bank policies to ensure ethical business practices. Greet customers and assist customers with their current account needs and future product needs.
Primary Responsibilities
As a front-line employee, a Teller is the first contact person a customer encounters, greeting customers and welcoming them to our location. Represent the bank in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to handle cash and balance cash drawer(s).
- Receive checks, cash, money orders, savings bonds, credit card payments from customers.
- Well-organized, work independently, and able to prioritize.
- Educate customers by answering questions and inquiries in person or via phone. Solve any issues related to processing transactions.
- Listen to customer requests and deliver these requests to the best of your ability.
- Identify fraudulent activity to help prevent potential customer and bank losses.
- Ability to raise questions to management and adhere to policies.
- Maintain a current and well-developed working knowledge of the products and services we offer.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Understand deposit procedures including but not limited to:
- Wire Transfers- CTRs- Holds- Account Opening/Closing- Stop Payments- ATM processing- Night Drop processing- Coin Machine Balancing- Vault Balancing- Drawer Balancing
Working Environment
Work is performed inside. Work week consists of Monday through Friday with a varying schedule, with rotating Saturday mornings.
Work Hours:
7:45a – 4:15p Monday – Thursday
7:45a – 5:15p Friday
8:15 – 10:45 on scheduled Saturday
Operating Hours:
8:00a – 4:00p Monday - Thursday
8:00a – 5:00p Friday
8:30a – 10:30a Saturday
Job Expectations

Physical/Other Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 20 – 50 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, type, read and write. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and direct. Occasionally lift and move heavy items. Close and distance vision abilities. Ability to focus. Utilize depth perception and peripheral vision.
Education and Special Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years experienced in a related position with cash handling and customer service responsibilities.
- This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment.
- Banking experience is preferred but not required

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
