Job Description:
The Estimator will work on a variety of field-testing proposals involving NETA ATS and MTS testing and commissioning projects. Customers we service are Power Generation, Chemical/Industrial, Manufacturing, and large Commercial properties. We also provide proposals for Power Construction Services in the areas of power distribution and substation electrical construction. The estimator is an integral part of the electrical testing process and ensures competitiveness, profitability and growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the Sales and Operations team to assist with preparing complete cost estimates for client base.
- Work with the estimating group in place to receive, prepare, and distribute completed proposals as per defined scope items and meet RFQ deadlines.
- Some RFQ’s require field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to understand and determine all scope requirements.
- Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation.
- Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency, and enter all proposals in the Power estimating software program.
- Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding the basis of the cost estimate.
- Assist in the preparation of change order submittals as applicable.
- Follow-up at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process with the operations group to include scope definition, and final billing needs.
The salary
- Requirements:
- BS Electrical Degree and/or Formal Electrical Trades Schools are preferred for this position.
- 3-5 years of prior experience working within the electrical testing field is highly preferred.
- Experience as an estimator working with electrical testing projects is preferred.
- The candidate must possess experience in understanding electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects and services.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Adobe PDF, and Salesforce.
- Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required throughout the district and surrounding areas.
- The salary range will be based on level of experience.

Pay: $75,128.00 - $82,594.00 per year
