JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Clerk works on the group’s general accounting functions including but not limited to; cost coding, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, credit card reconciliation, intercompany transactions, vendor/customer maintenance, and project related support.
QUALIFICATIONS

3 years of work experience in accounting or related field.

U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Team player and group contributor who interacts well with functional group and internal and external customers and suppliers.

Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel experience a plus).

Ability to operate a 10 key by touch.

Maritime industry experience a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Record and maintain documentation for accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing.

Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.

Assists with reconciling inter-company balances and credit cards.

Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data for various companies, departments, and projects.

Assists senior and staff accountants with the preparation of month end, quarterly, and year-end tasks, as needed.

Provides support to operations including but not limited to; prepare cost sheets, invoicing, payroll reporting, and documentation research.

Works with confidential data, which if disclosed, might have significant adverse internal or external effect; therefore, confidentiality and trustworthiness is paramount.

Execute the weekly processing of checks sorting, filling, and mailing.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
SHIFT INFORMATION
The standard work schedule for an Accounting Clerk is Monday-Friday, 0730-1630. This position will report to the main office daily.
