SUMMARY
Assists with directing, planning, and implementing and monitoring residents’ services programs and activities to remove barriers and ensure SBHA residents and clients achieve self-sufficiency. Assists Resident Services Coordinator in directing day-to-day activities of residents relations, Housing University and COPE programs. Ensures optimal residents’ participation in SBHA programs and activities including Housing University and youth sport programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Greets visitors; actively inquiries about how the visitors may be assisted; provides accurate
information in response to questions and comments; directs visitors to appropriate staff; represents
department and HASB in a professional and courteous manner.
· Encourage Resident participating in programs and activities, building rapports with residents in a professional manner.
· Assists in developing and implementing plans and procedures for administration and management of all resident relations programs and works to address resident needs in program offerings.
· Assists with maintaining policies and procedures to effectively operate all SBHA resident training programs
· Assist, conduct and support the promotion of a clean, orderly and healthy environment at all times.
· Informs residents about relevant HASB and local activities.
· Remains available to assist residents
· Assists in coordination with various organizations to aid residents.
· Promotes harmonious relations among residents, resident services personnel, and persons of the community.
· Assists with preparing and submitting requisitions for department.
· Attend staff trainings and department meetings as needed and other duties as assigned.
LEVEL OF CONTACTS
Daily personal and telephone contact with Executive staff, Public Housing and Section 8 employees, residents and clients. Frequent personal, telephone and written contact with representatives of community organizations and area schools. Occasional personal, telephone and written contact with members of the Board of Commissioners, city and other government officials, and community representatives. Occasional personal, telephone and written contact with officials of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
Directly supervises all residents’ relations and Housing University employees, as well as Coordinator with oversight of all operations within the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplinary employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, clients, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate to efficiently present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, clients, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must be Certified Public Housing Manager or posses the ability to become certified within one year of appointment to position. Must have a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under SBHA’s automobile insurance.
OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must have extensive experience working with IBM compatible computer software such as Microsoft Word, excel and Access as well as tutorial programs designed for independent learning. Must exhibit good judgment, maintain confidentiality, be diplomatic and be able to relate to persons of all ethic and economic backgrounds. Must be able to work with limited supervision and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, when required. Must have a working telephone.
