Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare environment and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk
- Verify patient information, collect co-pays, and process insurance information
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of all documentation
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Assist with medical administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent customer service
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
- Proficient in using computer systems and electronic medical record (EMR) software; experience with Epic is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a dental office or emergency room setting is beneficial
