Adjunct Faculty, Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program Clinical Preceptor
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary: The CMU Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Adjunct Faculty-Preceptors. We welcome practicing clinicians who are interested in precepting students to apply. Preceptors are needed for the following clinical rotations:

Behavior Medicine and Mental Health (2-week rotation)

Women's Health (2-week rotation)
-
Pediatric Medicine (2-week rotation)
-
Family Medicine (4-week rotation)
-
Internal Medicine (4-week rotation)
-
Inpatient Medicine (4-week rotation)
-
Surgery (4-week rotation)
-
Emergency Medicine (4-week rotation)
-
Elective Rotations (4-week rotation)
Preceptors must commit to supervising, coordinating, onboarding, educating, and evaluating clinical year students in their appropriate setting (outpatient, operating room, inpatient, emergency department) for a minimum of 36 hours a week for the length of the rotation (2- or 4- weeks).
Minimum Qualifications:

Must be active in clinical practice.

Must be employed by an organization with an affiliation agreement with Colorado Mesa University or be able to enter into an affiliation agreement with Colorado Mesa University.

MD/DO: Must have a current board certification in the area of instruction (i.e., a physician working in family medicine must be board certified in family medicine)

PA: Must have current NCCPA certification and active state license

NPs: Certification must match the area of instruction (i.e., an NP working in Pediatrics must have a CPNP certification)

Other licensed healthcare providers (Nurse midwife, Licensed social worker, counselor, etc.): must be qualified in their area of instruction.
Salary: $100 a week per student ($400 per 4-week rotation, $200 per 2-week rotation).
Preceptors must commit to precepting three students a year to receive compensation. Note the clinical year is June to May every year.
