POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is enabling ingredient and beverage innovation global R&D in nature. Qualified candidates are expected to have industry experience (5-10 years with Ph.D. or 10 plus years with BS/MS). Candidates with extensive hands-on experience using analytical instruments to perform routine and non-routine testing to support business are required. Experiences in methods development and validation; sample preparation of various matrices including food and beverage; and qualitative, quantitative, and unknown analyses of small molecules and water-soluble large molecules in ingredients and beverage products; and analytical troubleshooting are highly desirable. The ability to acquire new knowledge, capability, and skills in other areas of analytical chemistry as well as in solving problems, and leading projects are strongly preferred.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge and skills as well as hands-on experiences in separation and characterization of large and small molecules (such as proteins, peptides, glycoproteins, oligosaccharides, etc.) in both ingredients and finished beverage products (carbonated soft drinks, dairy, coffee, and juice) using HPLC, LC/MS, CE, GPC, and related techniques. Additionally, knowledge and experience with biophysical characterizations of biomolecules to show purity, stability, function, proper folding, and potential interactions with other food ingredients is highly desirable. This would include biochemical techniques based on electrophoresis, light-scattering, fluorescence, blotting/ELISA, etc.; The ability to acquire, establish, and apply new capabilities; and the desire and ability to collaborate and communicate across functions are essential to this position.
FUNCTION RELATED ACTIVITIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of this position include meetings with clients, searching the literature for relevant information, developing, and validating methods, conducting and or leading routine and non-routine testing, writing reports and documenting findings, maintaining instruments, working independently and/or in a collaborative team environment to support R&D projects and the Company’s needs, and acquiring and establishing new capabilities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS and Eligibility:

Bachelor's Degree in analytical chemistry, or equivalent qualification background required, prefer Ph.D. or MS degrees in analytical chemistry.
