We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated, skilled and engaging professional to fill a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) position in our busy OB/GYN practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health care professional wanting to join a dynamic team. The group practices out of multiple offices throughout Northern VA, with a service area that includes Manassas, Haymarket, Dulles and Fairfax. The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for the full scope midwifery care including well women, family planning, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.
- Successful completion of a formal, approved program which has as its objective the preparation of nurses to perform as nurse midwives; approved by the Board of Registration in Nursing and current certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives or be actively seeking such certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which eligible.
- Current active licensure to practice in the nurse midwife category from the State Board of Nursing.
- Current Federal Drug Enforcement certificate and Controlled Dangerous Substance certificate, if applicable.
- Minimum- Three years of midwifery experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- RN licenses in the State of Virginia.
- Nurse Midwife license in the State of Virginia
- Certification from the American College of Nurse Midwifery
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Basic midwifery care and knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to document clinical services efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to review patient medical charts for relevant history.
- Commitment to remain up-to-date with clinical standards of care and related advances in the field.
- Flexibility in responding to day-to-day clinical service demands and responsiveness to needs/inquiries of colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment and to collaborate with professionals across a variety of disciplines.
- Ability to consistently maintain and convey a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills in service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Performing gynecological exams on expectant mothers to ensure they remain healthy throughout the pregnancy
- Offering family planning services and preconception care to women who wish to get pregnant
- Providing support during labor and childbirth
- Educating parents about what to expect when raising a child
- Writing prescriptions
- Providing a detailed education on best practices for good nutrition and exercise

Requirements:
- Active CPR certification
- High volume practice experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Adoptable, proactive and quality-focused
- Computer proficiency - word, excel, outlook
- NextGen experience a PLUS
- Ability to travel between locations
- Minimum - Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery.
