PRF has multiple Contract Utility Forester positions currently open throughout the Carolinas. These positions require travel within North and South Carolina. The scope of work for these positions is diverse and includes multiple aspects of utility forestry.
Examples of daily work include: hazard tree identification & marking along utility lines, hazard tree data collection, project notification and communication with private landowners, safety audits, quality assurance audits, etc. This is a great opportunity to work independently in the outdoors while making a positive impact in local communities.
Requirements of Position(s):
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Associate degree required in Forestry or Natural Resources
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Forestry or Natural Resources
- Experience in Forestry, Natural Resources, or Forest Utilities is a plus
- Understand & effectively use GIS mapping software, GPS units, iPads, etc.
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Be able to effectively work with co-workers
- Be responsible for all paperwork/receipts/mileage log/activity sheets throughout a work week & turn them in on time
- Motivated to work diligently in outdoor conditions on a daily basis
- Required to take company safety classes (both quarterly & monthly)
- Participate in on-the-job performance evaluations

Employee Pay:
- Hourly wages will be determined based on education and years of experience. Increased wages will be negotiated if candidate holds specialized licenses/certifications (e.g. ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, NC Registered Forester, TRAQ, CTSP, etc.)
