The individual who fills this position will be responsible for completing a variety of technical tasks. This position may require some travel out of town (less than 50 days per year). The requirements of this position are presented below.
The Hazardous Materials/Industrial Hygiene group performs a wide range of hazardous materials and industrial hygiene consulting services including, but not limited to, all aspects of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) projects and site remediation. This includes project design, management and implementing of asbestos, lead based paint, air quality, noise, and subsurface soil and groundwater investigations at tribal, Brownfields, transportation, oil and gas, mining, commercial and residential developments, industrial, water infrastructure developments, and other state, municipal, and Federal sites. Duties for this position will include:
· Planning and conducting field investigations, interpretation of field data and generation of comprehensive reports for submission to clients – indoor air quality, noise assessments, site characterization, initial site assessments, Phase I and Phase II ESA, RI/FS, groundwater monitoring, Corrective Action Plans, work plans, Sampling and Analysis Pans, Materials Management Plans, QA Plans, and Health and Safety plans
· Asbestos and LBP surveys and abatement/remediation plans, RACS management, and ACM and LBP abatement
· Experience managing, operating, or maintaining pump and treat groundwater remediation systems, overseeing vacuum truck free phase petroleum product and soil vapor removal operations, installing monitoring and production wells, underground storage tank removals, hollow-stem auger drilling with split-spoon sampling, mud-rotary drilling, well gauging and sampling, direct-push investigations, geophysical surveys, hydraulic conductivity pump testing, and aquifer testing.
· Oil and gas well abandonment, assessment, and remediation
· Noise and air quality (indoor and outdoor) studies, modeling, variance requests, and reports
· Project Health and Safety Officer responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
· B.S. in Geology, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field, and a minimum of 7 years consulting experience in the aforementioned areas
· MUST have Certified Asbestos Building Inspector (CABI) and Air Monitoring Specialist (AMS) certification.
· MUST have at least ONE of the following certifications:
a. Lead Based Paint Inspector/Risk Assessor (CDPHE)
b. Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
c. Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
d. Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
e. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
· Previous project management experience is a must
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Must pass drug screening and background check
