This opportunity is not for the faint of heart. Our employees realize that managing multiple clients with different needs creates scheduling and time management challenges. We have an Operations team in place to support every team and employee, but we also know that our team members know how to manage, problem solve and hold themselves accountable for a healthy level of stress and unpredictability.
Primary areas of responsibility:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages
- Providing the client’s management team with qualitative and quantitative review of current financials on a monthly basis
- Maintaining, reviewing, and reporting on short-term cash forecasts, long-term financial pro-forma forecasts, and actual results compared to budget/plan
- Assisting in preparation of annual budgets
- Advising on and ensuring compliance with tax, audit, legal, and other financial regulations (e.g. sales/use tax, property tax, employee benefits, payroll taxes, debt covenants, various insurances etc.)
- Overseeing the operational execution and accuracy and controls of invoicing, A/R collections, revenue reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, A/P procedures, and similar to ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards
- Maintaining a system of internal controls over accounting transactions
- Ownership of engagement work plan and profitability
- Leading, managing and developing staff; Playing key role in mentoring team members
- Actively participating and leading regular team meetings
- Assisting with pricing arrangements and ensuring alignment
- Onboarding new clients
Qualifications and Skills:
The fully qualified candidate will have the following experience:
- At least 8 years of experience with accounting systems and accounting policies and procedures
- Public Accounting, Startup or Consulting Experience required
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business degree with an emphasis in Accounting
- CPA (active or inactive)
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles and financial statements
- Accounting knowledge in various industries ranging from SAAS companies to e-commerce companies is a plus
- Detail oriented, self-directed, and able to effectively complete tasks independently and on time
- Ability to function in a fully remote environment, including working knowledge of Zoom, Slack, Dropbox, and Google products
- Outstanding organization, communication, and management skills
- Master of Excel and working knowledge of QBO and/or Xero
- Open to new ideas and change, with the goal of always serving our clients and improving processes.
- Ability to be proactive and in-tune with clients' needs - identifying areas of weakness and developing processes to address those
