Systems Engineer (MES) - High-Temperature Composites
Job Summary:
- Work as part of the digital team within a material research and pre-production facility, that is civil aerospace focused
- Be responsible for aspects of the industrialization of the facilit
- Helping to deploy the parent company’s corporate manufacturing systems
- This includes product lifecycle management (PLM) and manufacturing execution software (MES) made by Siemens (Teamcenter & Simatic IT)
- To help integrate these new systems to work with established systems for maintaining manufacturing traceability
- To support the hardware side of the project as well, including VLAN upgrades and shop-floor PC to equipment installation
- Where required to support development MES (Eyelit) systems with day-to-day systems support
- Where required to support Eyelit new capability (e.g. process planning, data capture)
- Where required to support the team with VBA, Python, SQL scripting needs to help with legacy bespoke systems, data capture and logging
- To support the acceptance testing of capital equipment from a digital perspective,
- Includes the integration of new CNC machinery and furnace equipment, to ensure that data capture and potential communication with the MES system is functional
Key Experiences and Qualifications
- General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business
- General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to a production environment.
- Experience deploying Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a Production environment
- Knowledge of Python, MS SQL Server is preferred.
Key Accountabilities for Systems Engineer:
- Executes activities to realize the Digital Manufacturing strategy within the business (internal and external supply chain).
- This will include fixing, improving and/or transforming current and future digital capability in line with the Systems of Record, Differentiation and Innovation framework and corporate roadmaps/architecture to deliver transformative Manufacturing capability.
- Ensure the business and people are ready for the process change that the systems will introduce.
HSE - Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm program.
Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design intent and responsible for mitigating against process deviation.
Quality - Operate a culture of zero defects within the organization. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRE and Export Control and Intellectual Property requirements.
Requirements - Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems and technologies to meet current or future requirements.
Planning - Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
Develop Capability - Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Capture, analyze and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.
Deploy Capability - Deploy and implement standardized Digital Manufacturing processes and technologies working across the Commodity and Production lifecycle with Design and Operations functions ensuring business readiness in terms of people and process change to maximize the business benefit.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required. Identify, document and share best practice. Capture and utilize lessons learnt.
Develop Talent - Responsible for self development to meet the required competencies for the role. Provides coaching and technical support to others within their area of competence.
Build external relationships - Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to enable delivery of their objectives.

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
